Mike and Sonia Stucko are 2 bartenders who bought a bar. They met as 2 young bartenders working together at JJ’s Shamrock here in Marquette in the summer of ’94. Soon after meeting, the endless “When we have our own bar” conversations began. A year later, the relentless pursuit to learn the best and worst about the restaurant business moved them to Key West, Florida and then to Lansing, Michigan. Eventually their adventures brought them back to Marquette in the fall of '99.
The Stuckos bought The Village Pub and opened as Stucko’s Pub & Grill on July 5, 2006.
We have always revolved our thought process around the most simple of concepts, starting with great products at great prices, accompanied by great service, while staying true to who and what we are.
It sure has been a lot of fun watching this little shed change and evolve over the last 10 years. We embraced the history of the building (Originally built as a Shell gas station) and kept the old picnic tables (Do you see them?) along with the historical Sistine Chapel of Third Street -- look up! Much is different from the exterior through the interior and our menu and food specials are always evolving and developing, just like this building has.
There is a lot of work that goes into you enjoying yourself here, and we look forward to the challenge every day.
Come see us at 900 North Third Street, Marquette, visit our Facebook page.
